Eldhestar Ltd. (Volcano Horses) have organized riding tours since 1987. Eldhestar is one of the leading horse-trekking company in Iceland and today Eldhestar is the biggest riding tour operator in the country, offering tours from one hour to ten days, working with 1000 - 2000 horses at nine locations in Iceland. Eldhestar´s headquarters is at the ranch Vellir in southern part of Iceland, only 40 km from Reykjavík. From the ranch Eldhestar offers tours such as a one hour riding tour (price: 2200.-), a two hour riding tour (price: 3500.- transfer included) and our popular three hour riding tours; "The River Delta Tour" and "The Viking Mountain Tour" (price: 4500.-, transfer included). We also offer our extraordinary one day tour "The Hot Springs Tour" in the area around Volcano Hengill. On this tour people experience the hot springs in the valley Reykjadalur, where you can choose to bathe in water from 25 C to 43 C (price: 7900.-, transfer and lunch included). You also have spectacular views over southern part of Island such as the Westman Islands and the Volcano Hekla.

Eldhestar offers only good and reliable horses, well suited for both beginners and more experience riders. On our longer tours three horses are provided for each rider. Guests are welcome to assist in the driving and tending of the herd, after some practicing. The large number of horses makes it possible for each and every client to try up to 12 - 15 different horses, to suit his or her individual taste and ability. Included in all of our tours are: helmets, rainwear, good and reliable horses, guides, who speaks English, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian German and sometimes French.

Eldhestar emphasizes professional as well as personal service to its customers. And to ensure the client´s safety and pleasure, at least one of Eldhestar´s five owners will act as guide on all of the longer tours.

For those who want to ride for two, three or four days, we have some excellent tours to offer. The Shorter Volcano Tour (two days tour), The Volcano Tour (three days tour) in the area of the Volcano Hengill, the beautiful Thorsmörk - tour in the southern part of Iceland (four days tour) and also our new four days tour in the neighborhood of the largest glacier in Iceland Vatnajökull, give you all a good opportunity to experience the extraordinary skill of the Icelandic horses and at the same time enjoy many of the well known attractions in the nature of Iceland.

From our farms throughout the country we offer different longer tours in the countryside as well as exciting wilderness tours in the highlands. Our traditional tours; Snæfellsnes, Landmannalaugar Tour, Golden Tour of the South, Pearls of the North - east and The Paradise Tour (along the southcoast) are always very popular. For the summer of 1998 We also offer two new, week long tours suitable for all categories of riders. Both of these tours, Krisuvík and the Blue Lagoon and The Pearls of the North- west show us extraordinary phenomena in the always changeable nature of Iceland. All of you with experience have to try our wilderness tours Sprengisandur and Kjölur where we cross Iceland.
