Hotels in Greenland - Ilulissat (Jakobshavn) forms the heart of Disko Bay, situated by the extensive ice fjord and one of the world's most productive icebergs, which calves to produce 25 billion tonnes of ice a year. Ilulissat means iceberg, and it is here in the ice fjord, 40 km long and 7 km wide, that most of the icebergs of the Northern Hemisphere are created - around 20 million tons of icebergs every day.

The Hotel Arctic is situated in Ilulissat, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle and about 500 km north of Nuuk. You will scarcely find a hotel anywhere which has a more exotic and less traditional location than Hotel Arctic. Situated on a mountainside with views over the town of Ilulissat, the ice fjord with its astonishing icebergs, Disko Bay and Disko Island 85 km away, the scenery stretching before you is both stark and incredibly beautiful. Here is nature as you have never experienced it before.
Inside the hotel we have created a homely atmosphere. Our 40 rooms all have their own bath and toilet, telephone,
radio and TV, with a free hotel film. Apart from the amazing views, our restaurants offers you both international and Greenland specialities from a kitchen famed as one of the best at these latitudes. After an excellent meal, our bar can offer you the kind of variety you expect from an international hotel.
Hotel Arctic's facilities have been arranged to meet the demands of a busy day of meetings. Furniture, lighting, acoustics and a pleasantly air-conditioned atmosphere, create optimum conditions for a productive stay. With our conference rooms and seminar rooms, all equipped with audio-visual facilities, we can accommodate meetings, courses and conferences for up to fifty delegates.
Ilulissat has much to offer of cultural interest, such as folk dancing, museum visits, Greenland handicrafts, sealskin products, polar bear skins, narwahl teeth and much more. So once you have made your decisions, the final arrangements for your excursions, and the best time for you to encounter the real Greenland, will be made at Hotel Arctic.
