In R&D Wärtsilä Diesel has put the main emphasis on maintaining competence in the area of heavy fuel oil and gas burning diesel technology. The products are globally known for their modern design, low fuel consumption and high reliability. The power range of the Wärtsilä Diesel engines is from 275 to 18,900 kW.
The Wärtsilä Diesel Group has production companies in Finland, Sweden, Norway, France and the Netherlands. The Group also manufactures engines in Spain and India, and has concluded licensing agreements for manufacture in South Korea, Brazil and Indonesia.
After sales service, which is one of the major functions of the Wärtsilä Diesel Group, is based on a worldwide network of experienced and trained specialists. Spare parts are available on a 24 hours basis. Wärtsilä Diesel Group is represented via its own subsidiaries and agents in 67 countries.
