|
| MJ. Saltsøla was founded by Mr. Hans Pauli
Johannesen in Tórshavn in 1957. He ran the company until 1988 when his son Mr. Mortan
Johannesen succeeded him. The company's main area of business lies in the import of salt for industrial use from the island of Ibiza, Spain, to the Faroe Islands and Europe. In the Faroe Islands, the company renders services to the fishing industry as well as to other types of industries. The trawlers are serviced from the dock, whereas the fish-processing plants and related industries are serviced by lorries. M.J. Saltsøla supplies salt to all the Faroe Islands. Ibiza salt is widely known for its quality and is used mainly in the fishing industry all over Europe, though mostly in the Faroe Islands, Norway, Denmark and England. M.J. Saltsøla acts as a sole agent for the salt industry in Ibiza, further distributing it to clients in and outside the Faroe Islands. |
