Hjá Valdemar is a company which has grown steadily throughout the years. The company, which was founded in 1973, is located in Sřrvág on the island of Vágoy.

The owner, Mr. Valdemar Simonsen, started in 1973 with a bakery.

He operated the company as a bakery for the first five years, after which he expanded to a general grocery shop, hardware, gift shop, yarn and clothing. In 1985 Valdemar opened a new and modernised bakery. In 1989 he expanded yet again, this time adding a paint shop and its accessories.

In addition, Hjá Valdemar also supplies ships with provisions and necessary dock equipment. Storage space for containers can also be arranged in the company's 700 m² grounds.
